Since 2009, Alexandre Maïsetti – a Parisian native who grew up in the Menilmontant neighborhood – and Sébastien Lyky – a suburban guy who “exiled” himself to the heights of Belleville – have been creating chic items for men under the Commune de Paris 1871 banner. The self-taught pair, used to figuring things out for themselves, reappropriate pieces from the classic menswear wardrobe with an insolent sense of detail and indulge in beautiful materials and high-quality manufacturing. Their line in English tweeds, Italian poplins and Japanese denims are made in workrooms located exclusively in Europe.
